H.O.M.E.S. is a Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity service program for out-of-town mission groups. It is designed to accommodate domestic and international volunteer groups that wish to participate in a week-long Habitat building project in the Southern portion of the United States. Mission groups raise funds that are donated to the Habitat home they help build while in town.

What are the benefits to participating in the H.O.M.E.S. program?

  • Exposure to a different geographical region
  • Interaction with people that directly benefit from the Habitat program
  • Opportunity to participate in the local mission field
  • A chance to meet and learn from other people

What is the registration fee associated with H.O.M.E.S. participation?
There is a $100 donation fee that is due from each H.O.M.E.S. participant. Monies are collected and presented to the affiliate on the day of Habitat orientation. All monies collected from H.O.M.E.S. participants goes toward the house they help build.

What can participants expect from WHFH?
Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity will:

  • Provide safe and productive work for groups
  • Secure a place where participants may sleep, shower, prepare meals & congregate during their stay
  • Contact the local media about the project
  • Coordinate interaction among participants, construction staff, Habitat homeowners, partner families & community members
  • Collect donation monies from H.O.M.E.S. participants
